25 June 2009. Germany. A controversial German medic who preserves human corpses in plastic has defended his latest exhibit - of a couple having sex. Gunther von Hagens - who once caused outrage with an autopsy live on Channel 4 - has included the couple at the height of passion as part of a new exhibition called 'Cycle of Life'. The doctor's gory 'plastinated' exhibits are created by stripping bodies of their water and fats and injecting them with a form of plastic. The couple were both volunteers who said they would have no objection to being used in the sex exhibition but did not know each other before death, said Dr von Hagens. But he's denied the new show - due in the UK next year - is a type of grim, new medical porn. CEN/Photonews
